I'm a southerner and proud living in sunny Lincolnshire ( well, not so sunny). I picked up a camera a little more seriously after I had an accident and broke my neck 5 years ago. Photography allowed me to express myself without having to be physical. As my skills changed and I grew by learning Lightroom and Photoshop, I became more and more about wanting my own interpretations of what I see. Thinking about what I wanted to create, sourcing the props and then trying to get it right in the camera before editing it to be the way I saw. I do various types of photography in my home studio now, from maternity to newborn. weddings and family events. But my favorite is fine art child portraiture.
I joined The Guild of photographers where I used the Image of the month competition as a way to gauge my level and help me to grow with feedback on my images and then presenting a panel to go for my qualified status. I regularly won bronze awards so strived to win a silver or gold. I did that and more last year by winning enough awards to be made a member of the Bar of Photographer, presented February at a super posh doo at a Jacobean hall in Crewe. Then to top it all I am also in the top 12 child photographers of the year and because of that, I have been in a few newspapers locally which you can read.
I am also a member of the SWPP where I qualified as a Licentiate and also licentiate with the Master photographers association. I have an MA in photography from Falmouth University.
